Early Morning Clouds

I was up before daylight about a week ago.  As I opened the shades, I saw this unusual and beautiful cloud formation.  I snapped many pictures, but thought this one was the most gorgeous array of clouds I had seen in awhile.

As the sky lightened, I snapped the photo below.

The following photo is the view on the North side of my house.  The white object in the center of the picture, by the cedar tree, is the roof of my house.  Arkansas is such a beautiful place to live.

Arkansas Pond Turtles

It has taken me sometime to capture these turtles.  If you get too close, and scare them, the turtles jump into the water and stay under until you leave.  There are several types of pond turtles in Arkansas.  Red-eared Slider, Painted Turtle, and Mud Turtles.  At last  I have managed to capture some pictures.

This one I call – “Ma and Junior.”

This photo shows quite a battle for space on this small snag sticking out of the water.

An Evening Enjoying Nature

I could tell the sunset might produce a pretty picture last night.  So, I grabbed my camera and my husband chauffeured me in a mile circle near our house.  I managed to get a few nice photos which I will share with you.  Trying to capture these geese in the distance as they flew in a circle was challenging.  I am like the kid in the candy store when I place my camera in my hand and go out to enjoy nature.   My fellow blogger Merry Hearts Medicine does a post once a month on “Moments of Joy.”  Well, these were my moments of joy last night.

Happy Trails To You

Everytime we drive by this gate going to church on Sunday mornings I think of Roy Rogers and Dale Evans.  Dale wrote this song “Happy Trails,” back in 1952 and it was a theme song to “The Roy Rogers Show.”

I remember Roy and Dale because Roy did not die until 1998, and Dale did not die until 2001, which is not that long ago.  Occasionally I would see Roy singing on television with Clint Black or some other country music artist.

The first time I photographed this gate as my husband roared by at 55 mph I  only managed to get 1/2 of the gate.  Last Sunday, I hit it perfect.  Ha

A Nice Drive

Occasionally my husband  and I take a nice drive, to explore areas we have not seen in the State of Arkansas.  I take my camera along hoping I can capture some fantastic photo.  Well, my husband, never stops, never slows down, and all I do is point my camera, take a picture, and hope for the best.  At times I can get 5 good shots from 50.  Ha

I did capture this beautiful church as we passed by, because we were in an area where the speed limit was 40 mph.

We passed this lovely house, with a large pond in front, with cyprus trees growing in the water.  If the trees look a little blurry, I did my best.

I saw another church, and captured the stained glass window on the front.

Roared across this bridge and managed to capture the rail of the bridge, some water, and a few trees.  If I could stop and sit still I might get a picture that would be an absolute masterpiece.  Ha

Ozark Mountains of Arkansas

It is beautiful in the Northern part of Arkansas in the Ozark Mountains.  You find a lot of these rocks that give spectacular views if you are not afraid to venture out on them.

As you swim or float down the rivers of Arkansas on inner tubes you find a lot of these cliff formations along the waters edge.

Arkansas has a lot of water falls, especially during the rainy season.  You often have to hike into see these beautiful waterfalls and wade in the water.

Motorcycle riders love the crooked roads in Arkansas.  I think some of these roads are so crooked they must have followed a snake’s trail when they built them.

Another rocky bluff to stand on and look down at the valley and river below.

There are a lot of rock formations scatter through the hills and mountains of Arkansas.

There are a lot of canoe rental places in Arkansas to rent a canoe and enjoy the water.

So, you all come on down to the South Central U.S. and roam around beautiful Arkansas.
